Inter City Row Modern Dance Company
Are you up for a challenge? It’s time to level up!
Giving Tuesday Campaign Overview
Founded in 1981, Inter City Row is recognized as the oldest operating African American Dance Company in the state of Louisiana. For the past 37 years, Inter City Row Modern Dance Company has been a pillar in the community; making art and art educational activities available to those who are least likely to experience them. More specifically, ICR has made it our mission to reach those who are most susceptible to economic hardships, inner city youth.
In 2010, our new facility opened at 2021 Dr. Martin Luther King Dr. in Shreveport, LA. This particular location was selected so we can better serve, promote, and engage an underserved community. The community of Cooper Road (the Martin Luther King Area) in Shreveport, LA is a vibrant and growing area that offers the opportunity to dream big. Although the Cooper Road area is often depicted as one of the most poverty stricken and bleak areas in the city, ICR sees this area as an upcoming neighborhood full of uncapped potential and possibilities.
This year, ICR has initiated a new capital funding campaign focused on increasing our visibility and exploring new initiatives and partnerships to further embed ICR in the Shreveport/ Bossier communities. The first phase of this campaign will be a facility renovation. Throughout the 8 years this facility has been open, it has seen its days of wear and tear and is in need of several repairs.
The main purpose of this renovation will to provide a more welcoming and inviting venue for our students, teachers, and visitors. Our top priorities will be renovating the restroom, great hall and conference rooms/offices. To achieve our campaign goal of $5,000 raised, we will need your help. Completing this project, will be quite the challenge, but with your help we know we can easily accomplish this goal.
Here’s How You Can Help!
There are several ways that you can help us take our facility renovation to the next level. Click the links below to see how you can get involved in our campaign.
1. Monetary Donations
As a non-profit organization, we rely on the extraordinary individuals and businesses in our local community for support with our causes. One way to help support Inter City Row is with monetary/cash donations. All Monetary donations will be used to purchase the necessary building materials for the project. In addition, these contributions will also be used to pay the service providers who will be completing the work. If you are interested in making a monetary donation, please click the donate button below.
2. In-Kind Donations
In-kind/ product donations are also an excellent way to support our cause. Regardless of if it’s a new item or a slightly used product, it will be a welcomed contribution to our project. Do you have an extra can of paint at home just sitting around in the way? What about that set of tools that you bought and never opened? As they say “One person’s trash is another person’s treasure!” We would love to give your unwanted tools and building supplies a new home at ICR. Please click the link below if you would like to make an in-kind donation.
